About Mission Beach

Mission Beach is a small, tourist town between Cairns and Townsville in far north Queensland.

It’s in the tropics so temperatures average 27°C in winter (May to September) and 31°C in summer (November to February). Rainforest, coconut trees and a 14km white, sand beach give you a general idea of what it's like.

Apart from enjoying all the beach has to offer, other activities include snorkelling and scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, white water rafting on the Tully River, fishing, hiking through the Daintree Rainforest, picnicking on the tropical islands nearby (Dunk Island and Bedarra Island), and feeding sessions at a local crocodile farm.
